Bunratty Potcheen, also known as Poteen or Poitin, is a clear, smooth Irish spirit that has been distilled for centuries. Originally produced illegally in remote areas of Ireland, it was known for its strong taste and was often referred to as "moonshine" or "mountain dew." In 1997, Bunratty Potcheen became the first to be legally produced and bottled in Ireland. It is crafted from malt and barley fermented with yeast and distilled, resulting in a delightful changing aftertaste that sweetens as it develops.
